Friends and fans turned out for my first Colorado book signing at Poor Richard’s Bookstore this week.

It was fun to see everyone, do some reading, and discuss writing books for teens!

Gabriel and I spent the Memorial Day holiday in Europe this year, visiting southern Germany, the Bavarian Alps, and Austria.

Check out our photos from Salzburg, where we took the “original” Sound of Music tour, and Vienna, where we explored the childhood palace of Marie Antoinette.

If your original paperback copy of Desert Blood 10pm/9c is getting a bit worn from repeated reads, then today is your lucky day!

A new hardcover edition of the book is now available for purchase.  Created for use in libraries, it makes a nice, durable replacement for the paperback.  You’ll need to order it through a bookseller.

I spent a very enjoyable day at the Pikes Peak Public Library East Branch today, meeting readers and other writers and introducing them to Desert Blood 10pm/9c.

Joining me were many other local authors, including Laura Hayden!  Besides having written many books, Laura is also the director of the Pikes Peak Writers group.  As you can see, we had a great time!

What better way to get acquainted with local writers than at this year’s Pikes Peak Writers Conference?

It was great to make new friends while learning about ways to improve my craft!

Joining me for lunch were author John Shors and fellow writers Bryan, Brandon, Pat, and Jené.

It was a beautiful day to get out and celebrate the Earth!  So that’s exactly what I did...

I just returned from an amazing weekend in Rochester, NY, where I attended the 2nd Annual Teen Book Festival.

Alongside fellow YA authors, it was a great chance to meet readers, talk to librarians, and hang out with some very cool teens.  As always, I took plenty of
pictures...check them out here!

I will be joining an impressive lineup of other YA authors this coming Saturday at the Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival.  My buddy Lee is joining me from Toronto for what is sure to be a great weekend.  If you live nearby, I encourage you to stop by and say hello!

I recently relocated out of California and returned to a place much closer to my heart:  Colorado!  The view of Pikes Peak from my home is pretty fantastic, as you can see.  Hopefully, it will inspire some terrific writing!

Happy New Year!  There have been a lot of exciting things happening already...My agent, Caryn Wiseman, is continuing to shop the new novel, Border Patrol, to publishers.  Early readers of the manuscript have given it enthusiastic reviews, so our hopes remain high for a quick sale...

On March 31, 2007, I encourage anyone in the area to stop by the Greater Rochester NY Teen Book Festival!  I’ll be there, along with other popular teen authors, including David Levithan, Gail Giles, and Cecil Castellucci.  It is sure to be a great time!
